Experience His Love
Today's Scripture
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38 KJV).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God loves you so much today. He wants you to know and experience His love. When you experience something, it becomes real to you. You "own" it, so to speak. For example, if you've never eaten chocolate, someone else can describe it to you. They can tell you all about the taste and texture, but until you take a bite of it, it won't really mean anything.
In the same way, you can hear all about God's love and how wonderful He is, but it's not until you experience it first hand and allow His love to sink down into your heart, that something happens on the inside of you. His love changes you. It builds confidence and strength in you. It empowers you to overcome temptation and to stand strong no matter what difficulty you may be facing. When you open your heart and receive His love, you will be fully persuaded that nothing can separate you from Him!
A Prayer for Today
Father in Heaven, I open my heart to You today. Fill me with Your love so that I can know You more. I surrender every area of my life to You and ask You to fulfill Your purpose in me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Is He More? by Dr. Charles Stanley
READ | Colossians 1:15-20
Who is this Jesus? It's a question that has been asked by countless individuals for more than two millennia. And, to be sure, it is the most important question that can ever be asked—or answered. How would you reply?
You may say, "He's my Savior." But is He more? "Well, He's the Lord." But is He more?
Yes, He is far more indeed. Jesus did something for us that had never been done before: He enabled us to see the Father in a new way. In Colossians 1:15, Paul explains that Jesus is the "image of the invisible God."
No one has ever looked upon the face of the Almighty. In the Old Testament, some people found themselves in His presence, but they were never able to look fully upon His glory. For example, even Moses, who is described as God's friend (Ex. 33:11), could not look directly at Him. At best, he had the opportunity to look upon "God's back" as the Lord passed by. But Moses never saw His face. (Ex. 33:18-23).
However, Jesus came to bridge the gap between the Father's pure, holy glory and mankind's sinful nature. As God's "image," Jesus is the exact, flawless replica—the perfect reflection—of His Father. Therefore, Jesus could say, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9).
How do we know what the heavenly Father is like? By knowing Jesus. He is the only full expression and explanation of God. Are you prepared to answer the question? Then ask the Father to reveal His Son to you in a fresh way today.

Daily Affirmations
"I will sing with my spirit, but I also will sing with my mind"
1 Corinthians 14:15b (NIV)
Blessed by the ever-present grace of God, I live life fully.
My faith in God moves me to new heights of spiritual strength and understanding.
Divine energy flows throughout my body. I am whole and well.
The joy of my soul uplifts and encourages me.
Daily Word —August 20, 2008
Energetic
Divine life energizes and strengthens me.
Throughout the day, I need nourishment in order to continue to focus my mind and energize my body. This physical nourishment enables me to carry out all that needs to be done by me.
I need spiritual nourishment also. Turning within in moments of prayer, I connect with the God-life flowing throughout my body, energizing and strengthening me. At any time thereafter, I can pause, take a deep breath, and realize the energizing effect of affirming the life of God that is my true nature.
While I may feel the effects of the day's activities in my muscles or realize that I am becoming tired, I know that divine life is unlimited. I am strong, vigorous, vibrant, and healthy through the activity of the life of God within me and expressing as me.
"Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died; his sight was unimpaired and his vigor had not abated."--Deuteronomy 34:7

Prayer of the day
Teach me your Way, O Lord
Lord,
Teach me your way of treating others -
sinners, children, Pharisees,
Pilates and Herods,
and also John the Baptists.
Teach me your way of eating and drinking,
how to act when I'm tired from work
and need rest.
Teach me compassion
for the suffering, the poor, the blind, and the lame.
You who shed tears,
show me how to live my deepest emotions.
Above all, I want to learn
how you endured your Cross.
Teach me your way of looking at people:
the way you glanced at Peter after his denial,
the way you touched the heart of the rich young man
and the hearts of your disciples.
I would like to meet you as you really are,
since you change those who really know you.
If only I could hear you speak
as when you spoke
in the synagogue of Capernaum
or on the Mount of Beatitudes!
Give me grace to live my life,
within and without,
the way you lived your life,
O Lord.
Amen.
Quote & Scripture of the Day
Jesus Christ, the Son of God said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
His every word and deed bring truth and life. Shall we not draw close to him?
Faith says he is not far away.
We can still hear him speaking in the gospels.
We can still find him in the Church and in the sacraments.
We can still see him in those who follow him. Shall we not follow him, too?
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord. Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.' " Romans 12:9 - 21
If you believe that the Bible offers truth about the way to salvation, but you have not made the decision yet to become a Christian, it's as simple as praying this prayer. You can pray by yourself, using your own words. There is no special formula. Just pray from your heart to God, and He will save you. If you feel lost and just don't know what to pray, here's a prayer of salvation that you can pray:
Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don't please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
Amen
If you prayed this prayer, get yourself in a good bible based church and know God has a great plan for your life.
