Peace That Passes Understanding

Many people carry anxiety and worry about life—their jobs, money, homes, and relationships. They allow these cares and concerns to overwhelm their thoughts and affect every area of their lives. They don't sleep well and become touchy and edgy with people throughout the day. If that's you, recognize that God has a plan for you to live in peace—peace that passes understanding. What does that mean?
It means that you can have peace in your heart when it doesn't make sense to have peace—when the world around you is anxious and upset; when circumstances are beyond your control; when things aren't going the way you thought they would. You serve a good God, and no matter what things look like today, He is working behind the scenes on your behalf.
One definition of "peace" means, "to set at one again." When you are at one and in unity with the Father through Christ Jesus, His supernatural peace will automatically begin to fill your heart. All of that anxiety and uneasiness will disappear as His supernatural peace guards your heart and directs your steps into the abundant life He has for you.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, I give You my cares and concerns. I choose to trust that You are working behind the scenes for me. Fill me with Your peace and joy today as I surrender every area of my life to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Discovery
I am discovering and rediscovering God's presence more completely.
I am on a mission of discovery, a spiritual quest that truly satisfies my soul. Throughout my journey, I am learning the myriad ways that the presence of God is active in my life. Each day I acquire a greater depth of understanding that in every moment, God's presence surrounds, upholds, and flows through me.
As a creation of God in a world of God's creation, I help others along the way on their quest. When the people around me are searching for greater abundance and wholeness, I affirm for them that they have all this and even more as they discover and rediscover God's presence more completely.
This is the greatest discovery of all: God is the one source of abundance and wholeness, wisdom and strength that we seek.

Prayer of the day
For Those who are Suffering
Gracious God, all around me people are suffering. When I turn away from my own problems, I feel sorrow for the problems of others. Through the news, the media, and my conversations, I am daily confronted with the pain and suffering of so many innocent people in my life and in the world. Suffering seems to eagerly eat at the edges of life until people are worn down with sadness and despair. Even though I do not understand the reasons for suffering, I believe that you are a God of love, a God of compassion. I pray that you will be with all those this day that are in pain, who suffer silently and alone, who feel abandoned and left by the side of life's road. Wrap your arms of grace around them, until they know they are safely held in your embrace. And, I pray, that you will fill my heart with the same compassion, and give me eyes to see how I can lovingly be a part of their healing. I ask this for the sake of your great love.Through Jesus Christ our Lord

Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don't please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
