Today's Scripture
"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!" (Habakkuk 3:17-18).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Habakkuk knew what to do when things seemed completely hopeless. His world was literally falling apart around Him. There was destruction every where he looked. But Habakkuk knew that God was bigger than his circumstances! So what did he do? He invited God into his circumstances by rejoicing and praising the Lord. He made the choice to be joyful knowing that it would connect him to the One who would deliver him!
Are you facing a situation that seems dark or hopeless? No matter how difficult things may seem, God has a plan to bring you out into a place of victory. Your praise is the bridge that will carry you into your land of promise. The Bible tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people, and when the presence of God manifests, the enemy has to flee!
The Bible also tells us that there is fullness of joy in His presence. His joy empowers us to walk through any difficulty we may be facing. No matter how things may seem in the natural, you can rejoice today because God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. As you praise Him, He will fill you with His joy and pour out His abundant blessing in every area of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, I come to You trusting that You are my Deliverer. No matter what is going on around me, today I choose to bless and praise Your name. I choose to connect to You, knowing that You are the source of my strength, hope, and peace. In Jesus' Name.

Contribution
I contribute joyfully from the gifts of Spirit I have received.
As I give of my inner sacred qualities in service, I make a contribution to the lives of others and I receive joy and fulfillment in return. Individually or as part of a group, I contribute in ways that resonate in my soul.
I search out opportunities to be of service. I may volunteer at my local school, sharing a story with a child who's learning to read. I may visit residents in a nursing home, becoming a friendly, familiar face to those in care. I may give to a charity in my community or on the other side of the world.
I spread loving-kindness by doing and being there for others. I make a difference as, with a joyful heart, I contribute from the gifts of Spirit I have received.
"We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us ... the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness."--Romans 12:6-8

Prayer of the day
Expressing Gratitude
Gracious God,
in the busyness of my day, I sometimes forget to stop to thank You for all that is good in my life.
My blessings are many and my heart is filled with gratefulness for the gift of living, for the ability to love and be loved, for the opportunity to see the everyday wonders of creation, for sleep and water, for a mind that thinks and a body that feels.
I thank you, too, for those things in my life that are less than I would hope them to be.
Things that seem challenging, unfair, or difficult.
When my heart feels stretched and empty and pools of tears form in my weary eyes, still I rejoice that you are as near to me as my next breath and that in the midst of turbulence, I am growing and learning.
In the silence of my soul, I thank you most of all for your unconditional and eternal love.
In the mighty name of Jesus I pray.
Amen.

Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
